10 Reasons to Get Back to the Mat

With vacations, pool parties and barbecues, we know how easy it was to slip away from your mat. Now that the kids are back to school and fall has arrived, it’s time for you again, which therefore means it’s time to get back to the mat!

Here are 10 reasons why you should head to class now.

1. Be a healthier you.

Feel good about yourself and what you can accomplish. In the end, your health and happiness is the most important thing. Yoga is not only about getting a great workout – It’s a relaxing, challenging and fun workout regimen that will lead to a healthier life.

2. Get fit and lean.

Just a few chatarangas and you'll feel your arms getting stronger. You know that wheezing sound we make climbing just three flights of stairs? Within one week of a few power classes, you will gain endurance, strength and begin to see muscle definition again.

3. Increase your productivity.

Taking time for you has its benefits. For example, you'll have a clearer sense of what's important and enough energy to actually get it done. Incorporating yoga into your daily routine will increase your overall health, which will in-turn, will increase your productivity to tackle other priorities.

4. Gain flexibility.

Increasing your flexibility can lead to a better lifestyle. Those pesky back pains from sitting hunched over your computer all day will subside with each stretch. Yoga is known as a great exercise for increasing total body health, and doing yoga on a regular basis is a great way to get to that better lifestyle you’ve be ignoring all summer.

5. Perfect that pose.

Get your handstands on or finally nail that dragonfly! Perfecting a pose is not only exciting but it will spark your desire to try more and more. Begin to feel that excitement and passion for yoga with a new goal to perfect that pose you’ve always wished you could do.

6. There is no time like the present to get back to that mat.

No more, "Girl, I can't do that", "the kids" or "it's too hard". If no one's told you that you're just giving yourself excuses, we are saying it now. No one knows how to do a backbend until they try. Live in the now and get back to the mat!

Instead, concentrate on the breath and flow of movement. Afterward, you’ll be ready to take on the world with a clearer mind and refreshed body.

Perfect your pose with private, one-on-one instruction from our experienced, certified instructors. By pinpointing and accommodating your strengths and weaknesses, your teacher will improve the quality of your yoga practice. Awesome!

9. Join the community.

Attending class is a great way to get out of your comfort zone and meet people. Most start their yoga journey alone, but joining a studio gets you involved with other like-minded people with the same fitness goals. The instructors and fellow yogis will be there to support you!

10. Have a reason to actually wear yoga pants.

Need we say more? Now, you have a legitimate excuse to wear yoga pants all day! You should feel good about your body and not wear yoga pants because 'it's the only thing that fits', but because you're going to a yoga class or just came from one.
