Whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for years, our classes are designed to help you unite your mind, body, and spirit. Joy Yoga truly specializes in teaching the art of yoga so you can receive the benefits of stress relief, increased strength and flexibility, and quieting the busy mind. And most importantly, finding your inner joy!

We offer a wide range of daily classes for yogis of all levels:

  • Joy Slow Flow

    This basic vinyasa class is suitable for beginners and experienced yogis alike. Our knowledgeable instructors will cover the fundamentals of yoga including proper alignment, modifications for injuries & pregnancies, and proper breathing techniques. This is the perfect class for anyone who is new to yoga and a great refresher for more experienced yogis. Room temperature is generally between 76-80 degrees.(Intensity level 5-7)

  • Joy Yoga Flow

    By linking mindful movement to breath, this vinyasa class is suited for all levels. The class offers sun salutations, creative sequences, mindful alignment principles, and complimentary breath work associated with each pose. The class includes foundational asanas (postures) while also focusing on strengthening core muscle groups needed for arm balances, inversion, and other postures. Get ready to have fun, try new postures, and play towards your personal edge. (Intensity Level 6-8)

  • Prenatal

    Prenatal yoga classes are more popular than ever. This age-old practice keeps you limber, tones your muscles, and improves your balance and circulation.

    Yoga is also beneficial because it helps you learn to breathe deeply and relax, which will come in handy as you face the physical demands of labor, birth, and motherhood. And being in a positive, supportive environment with others like you can give you a regular emotional boost and keep you motivated to continue exercising. Read more about prenatal yoga.

  • Wake Up & Salute the Sun

    Strengthen your muscles, develop your balance skills and stretch it all out all while enjoying the beautiful sunrise and spectacular views of downtown. This class focuses on stretching to warm up the body and leads into a Sun Salutation Sequence. The Sun Salutation sequence, if done at a fast pace can be a good way to lose weight and is an excellent cardiovascular workout as well - stretching and toning the muscles in the entire body. But that's not all. This yoga sequence improves the circulation of blood throughout the body and helps in maintaining good health by ensuring a disease-free body. This a great class for all yoga levels. (Intensity Level 5-7)

  • Acro

    AcroYoga blends the wisdom of yoga, the dynamic power of acrobatics, and the loving kindness of healing arts. These three lineages form the foundation of a practice that cultivates trust, playfulness, and community. All levels are welcome - no partner necessary. Come fly with us!

  • Candlelight Flow

    The long day is over and it's time to wind down for the evening. This relaxing slow flow amid candlelight is a great way to end your busy day. (Intensity level 5-7)

  • Pilates Boot Camp

    Pilates boot camp takes classical Pilates and adds a twist! In addition to working your core and full-body toning, Pilates boot camp offers cardio intensity. Get ready to sweat and push yourself to your limits! Be sure to bring a towel and plenty of water. (Intensity level 9-10)

  • Insanity Yoga

    This class alternates challenging strength training segments with a vinyasa yoga sequences to give you a heart-pounding, total body sculpting workout. The room is heated to 82 degrees and hand held dumbbells are provided.

    We recommend bringing a towel (or two) and plenty of water!(Intensity level 10!)

  • Guided Meditation

    During our guided meditation class, our instructors will verbally guide you into an enhanced state of consciousness. You will follow verbal instructions to learn how to relax the entire body, clear the mind, concentrate on breathing, and focus your awareness and attention. What you choose to explore when meditating all depends on your intentions, needs, and level of interest and passion. Join us to clear your mind at the end of a busy week!

  • Back to Basics

    Back To Basics Yoga class offers foundational posture work that will build strength, provide stretching and explain the fundamentals of the body, mind and spirit. Each month classes will be presented as a progression series. Throughout the month, postures will be added to promote growth and expand your repertoire of poses by creating a strong foundation that you build a life of practice on. Great for beginners or those that just want to get back to the basics! (Intensity Level 5-6)

  • Power Pilates

    Build core strength and tone up with fun combinations of mat Pilates moves that will help you gain core strength and flexibility.

    Pilates is a body conditioning routine that helps build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. It emphasizes spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core or center, and improving coordination and balance. Pilates' system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginning to advanced. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.(Intensity level 6-8)

  • Lunch Power Hour

    In just one hour you will stretch your muscles, build strength, find your balance, open your hips, get upside down and enjoy some stillness. You will leave feeling refreshed and invigorated! Get ready to really build your practice!

  • Yoga for Runners

    Lead by former marathoner-trainer, this 'running therapeutics' yoga class is a full body endurance workout intelligently strengthening and lengthening the hamstrings, and opening the hips and shoulders. Designed by an athlete for athletes, this class has components of endurance, breath work, stretching and focused mindfulness to help keep runners on the road and work the body for optimal performance. Injuries welcomed. (Intensity level 6-8)

  • De-Stress & Relax

    This class is centered around the classical Hatha yoga tradition and features gentle, slow flowing asanas. Breathing is emphasized as you develop flexibility, balance, and strength. A final relaxation allows you de-stress and re-energize. This class is appropriate for beginners and yogis seeking a soothing, gentle class. Modifications are provided for those with injuries or limitations. (Intensity level 6-8)

  • JYU Donation Class

    Come and be inspired by the fresh zeal of our newest JYU teachers! Their classes are donation-based with all proceeds going towards the organization of the teachers choice. Explore your asana practice for a worthy cause. All levels are welcome!

  • Joy Yoga University

    Joy Yoga University’s 200 Hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training curriculum meets standards for curriculum developed by Yoga Alliance and is directed by Larry Thraen, a qualified instructor (E-RYT 200, RYT 500) per Yoga Alliance standards.

  • Chaturanga Tuesday Power Flow

    Join us for chaturanga Tuesday! During this high intensity power vinyasa flow, you will do multiples series of chaturanga countdowns, building upper body strength and endurance. Push yourself to your limits and have a blast at the same time! (Intensity level 8-10)

  • Joy Power Flow

    Build internal heat with your breath, feel external heat when sweat drips onto your mat. Power Flow is an invigorating flow class that will have you moving and breathing through your postures (asanas). Come prepared to explore your body and take on new challenges with invitations to experiment with rapid movement through sun salutations and various asanas such as arm balances, inversions, twists, backbends, hip openers and more. Power Flow will help create an opportunity to go inward and become present on a new level. Explore your edges as you build core strength, tone, balance and detoxify your body all the while freeing your mind through the rhythm of your breath (pranayama). Power Flow is for the experienced student who listens to their body, takes care of it & would like to develop a deeper, more intense practice! (Intensity Level 8-10)

  • Joy HathaFlow

    This mixed levels vinyasa class is suitable for all yogis. From beginners to yogis with experience in yoga. Our instructors will use fewer verbal cues and include a variety of intermediate to advanced modifications for foundational poses to cultivate balance, flexibility, strength, and endurance. This level will help you build upon the solid foundation you created in our Joy Slow Flow classes and strengthen your yoga practice. We encourage beginners to modify as needed and remember that child's pose is always available to you if you need a break. Room temperature is generally between 76-80 degrees. (Intensity level 6-8)

  • Restorative Yoga

    Restorative classes are relaxing and are a good complement to more active practices. Holding poses for long periods while using props for support, and using elongated breathing techniques allows for deep muscle stretching. The teacher will arrange for the necessary props to be available to you. After you are set up in a pose with all your props, you will hold the pose for an extended period, often up to ten minutes. Although you are supported, you will feel a deep stretch. It's a relaxing style of practice that leaves you feeling open, loose and refreshed. It is a great practice to release tight muscles, loosen the lower back and open up joints like hips and shoulders. Restorative is a practice available to anyone at any level and provides deep relaxation and stretching which is often overlooked in our quest for physical activity. (Intensity level 5-7)

  • Rock Your Flow

    This 60-minute Vinyasa Flow class is perfect for advanced beginners to advanced yogis that want to have some fun. This is high energy class is set to music and features and instructor that practices with you. The instructor will offer limited cues, allowing yogis the option to up or down level their practice. Come to this class prepared to have fun, move to the beat, and get a great workout. (Intensity level 5-7)
