  • Restorative Yoga

Restorative classes are relaxing and are a good complement to more active practices. Holding poses for long periods while using props for support, and using elongated breathing techniques allows for deep muscle stretching. The teacher will arrange for the necessary props to be available to you. After you are set up in a pose with all your props, you will hold the pose for an extended period, often up to ten minutes. Although you are supported, you will feel a deep stretch. It's a relaxing style of practice that leaves you feeling open, loose and refreshed. It is a great practice to release tight muscles, loosen the lower back and open up joints like hips and shoulders. Restorative is a practice available to anyone at any level and provides deep relaxation and stretching which is often overlooked in our quest for physical activity.
